The 40th International Film Festival of India gets underway from 23rd November 2009. This 11 day extravaganza is the biggest annual film event in South Asia. Eight films will be screened in the Indian premieres category.
First is Amol Palekar's english film 'And Once Again'. Besides Antara, it has Rajat Kapoor and Rituparna Sengupta. Story and screenplay is done by Sandhya Gokhale while Debojyoti Mishra has handled the music. The film is about dealing with man- woman relationship, about repression of violence, its lingering shadow and various shades, and how we manage to draw a line between our past and present.

'Red Alert- The War Within' boasts of the most exciting ensemble cast ever gathered...Suniel Shetty, Sameera Reddy, Seema Biswas, Naseeruddin Shah, Vinod Khanna, Ayesha Dharker, Ashish Vidyarthi, Gulshan Grover and Bhagyashree. Javed Akhtar has penned the fiery theme number which Lalit has composed.

'Red Alert - the War Within' Narsimha (Suniel Shetty), a poverty stricken farmer, toils hard to support his family while harboring the dream of giving his children a decent education. But fate has other plans in store for Narsimha. Narsimha is taken prisoner by a group of Naxalites. Slowly and steadily, Narsimha starts believing in the ideologies of his captors and becomes one of them. But as time passes, Narsimha's beliefs find themselves on shaky ground as he starts questioning his own morals.

'God Lives in the Himalayas' is a film written and directed by Mumbai based Sanjay Srinivas. It's the first full fledged Indian feature film shot in Nepal with Nepali cast and in Nepali language.

'God Lives in the Himalayas' The story focuses primarily on a ten year old boy named Siddharth who is traumatized when he witnesses a religious ceremony which goes terribly wrong, consuming his mother in flames and causing his father to be seriously burnt. Previously happy and outgoing, Siddharth becomes an introverted child, reluctant to talk. Siddharth is obliged to live with his uncle. Sadly, the young boy is treated badly by his aunt. Siddharth is confused and seeks God. Viewers of the film will journey with these children through some of the most beautiful, and some of the most inhospitable, areas of Nepal in their quest to find God. The journey is filled with emotion, drama and tragedy before Siddharth reaches his goal.
