Pop stars lured to B'wood

What tempts international singing sensations from across the border and seven seas to do their bit in Bollywood. Here's a look at the artists who have come forward to work on the Hindi music scene...

The latest to rope in American R&B singer/songwriter Akon is 'King Khan'. Akon will work his magic in the upcoming superhero fantasy, 'Ra.One' featuring Kareena Kapoor and SRK himself in the lead. The composer duo Vishal-Shekhar will be pitching in to helm the soundtrack. Akon said that he will be composing and singing a song for 'Ra.One'. (BCCL/Sachin Gokhale)
With its star-studded cast and some underwater action, last year's 'Blue' promised to provide some amazing results at the box-office. But the presence of Australian pop sensation Kylie Minogue dancing on the tunes of A R Rahman's 'Chiggy Wiggy' & lending her voice for the song did some magic for sure.
Bringing his trademark style to Bollywood music, American rapper Snoop Dogg joined in with Akshay Kumar and UK-based bhangra band RDB to groove to the tunes of 'Singh is Kinng'. Hugely popular with listeners, the song is the perfect example of a mix of western and eastern culture.
Tracing back the connection of Bollywood to some international pop stars we have Tata Young in the list. Remember the Thai singer oozing oomph with her voice while sizzling uninhibitedly around John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra in 'Dhoom'.
Samantha Fox is the one who started it all. Pop sensation and glam girl of the 80's flew down to Mumbai to shake a leg with Govinda against Bappi Lahri's disco-themed 'Traffic Jam'. But, her appearance in the song was neither appreciated nor remembered. (Getty Images/Peter Barry)
Again the credit goes to Bachchan Jr, the actor had his hip-hop side in Mahesh Manjrekar's 'Rakht'. Shaan worked on the official Hindi version of English boy band Blue's best-remembered chartbuster, 'One love'. (REUTERS/Stephen Hird)
Sweden-based Iranian singer, Arash impressed the fans in India with his voice in 'Bluffmaster's' foot-tapping number of 'Boro Boro'. The song was choregraphed on Abhishek Bachchan and its Hindi lyrics were penned down by writer Jaideep Saini. (REUTERS/Sergei Karpukhin)
For the movie 'Heyy Babyy', Sajid Khan roped in a special appearance by Australia's pop stars, namely 'Girlband', best known for their single 'Party Girl', to do jazz things up. The number was all spunked up with Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy's music.
