Leading ladies of TV

Be it the woman centric 'Saas-Bahu' sagas or be it the women based serials, TV is being influenced by women these days. So on the day of International Women's day we have a list of some of the famous soaps that focus on the various aspects of woman in a society.

Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi: One of the hit serials on TV that made Saas-Bahu soaps and Ekta Kapoor very popular among the viewers. The whole stroy revolves around a woman Tulsi (Smriti Irani), the main protagonist and her relationship as a daughter, daughter-in-law, wife, Bhabhi etc.

Jaane Kya Baat Hui: It is a story of Aradhana, played by Shweta Tiwari who is caught in a loveless marriage with Shailendra, played by Sanjeet Bedi. One day a mysterious stranger enters Aradhana’s life and brings chaos & turmoil in her married life. He makes her rediscover the women within her while her husband continues to divide his time between his business, his mistress and the other random women in his life.

F.I.R: One of its kind, a comedy serial that has a lady Inspector, Chandramukhi Chautala played by Kavita kaushik as the head of the Police Station who is rude and harsh ti her constables and this is what makes the whole plot rib tickling and interesting.

Astitva...Ek Prem Kahani: Astitva.. Ek Prem Kahani was a story that focused on the concept of women's identity. The story is about Dr. Simran Mathur, a gynecologist who enters a complex situation when she marries a man 10 years younger than her and eventually has an affair with another woman.

Balika Vadhu: The serial deals with Child Marriage, a social custom still prevalent in parts of India. The story begins with the marriage of the young boy Jagdish with Anandi (Avika Gor), a girl of his age. When Anandi reaches her 'sasuraal' she finds herself listening to Kalyani Devi (Daadi Sa). Her childish mistakes get her into trouble in the hands of Kalyani.
