Freida Pinto is a model turned actress. Her first movie 'Slumdog Millionaire' won the Cadillac People's Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2008.

Freida is perhaps the youngest Mumbai based actress who has been lucky enough to make her foray in a Danny Boyle film abroad with aplomb and win accolades for her immaculate performance.

After graduating from St Xavier's College, Mumbai, Freida Pinto did modelling for two years.

Freida Pinto was lucky to start her career with stars like Irfan Khan, Anil Kapoor and Mahesh Manjrekar.

Accepting the Cadillac People's Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival for Danny Boyle, Pinto said, "There are a lot of firsts for me in this. It's my first premiere, my first time dealing with the press, and now it's my first award."

Freida says, "The camera never gave me cold feet. I have always felt comfortable in front of it. When I gave my first shot for the film, I was a little scared. But then I gained confidence."

Freida holds a Bachelors degree in English and hosted TV travel show 'Full Circle'.

Freida Pinto has also worked for Elite model agency apart from acting.
