Politicians and sex scandals

Sex scandals are not new to Indian politics. The politicians may indiscriminate while choosing the party, but are consistent when it comes to scandals, let's have a look at the sex scandals in politics...

Andhra Pradesh Governor N.D. Tiwari resigned after allegations of his involvement in a sex scandal. A day after a channel showed pictures of an elderly man purported to be Tiwari with three young women in bed, the pressure was mounting on the 86-year-old leader to quit on moral grounds.
During the Lok Sabha elections the face of politics turned ugly when film star-turned-politician Jaya Prada alleged that rival leader Azam Khan was distributing nude pictures of her, to ensure her defeat in the polls. She alleged that Khan 'distributed, doctored and morphed' pictures of her in the nude.
J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had serious allegations that he was involved in a sex scandal. The scandal, in which girls, some of them minors, were said to be supplied to politicians, bureaucrats, police officials, sparked weeks of violent protests across the Himalayan region in 2006 after it was uncovered.
Former Utarakhand revenue minister Harak Singh Rawat had to resign in 2003 amid allegations of his links with an unwed mother. Opposition members had raised the issue of his alleged affair with the Assamese woman who later gave birth to a child.
Amarmani Tripathi, a politician and erstwhile cabinet minister in Uttar Pradesh, was arrested in September 2003 in connection with the murder of poetess Madhumita Shukla, with whom he allegedly had an affair and who was brutally murdered. Investigations revealed that she was carrying a foetus that matched the DNA of Tripathi, the Supreme Court rejected his bail plea and he is currently in jail.
Kerala minister P K Kunhalikutty's name had come up in the sex scandal, dubbed ice-cream parlour scandal after a brothel in Kozhikode that used an ice-cream shop as front office about eight years ago.
